A grocery store, gym and new shops are proposed at Milton's Derry Road and Bronte Street corner

What is proposed

FCHT Holdings (Ontario) Corp has applied to the Town of Milton for a zoning by-law amendment (Town file Z-07/26) for 6901-6951 Derry Road, at the northwest corner of Derry Road West and Bronte Street South. The proposal would add two buildings on the west side of the site, with surface parking, and realign the drive-through lane of the existing Tim Hortons restaurant on the property.

Supporting studies

The applicant submitted a planning justification report, architectural plans and elevations, a site plan and landscape plan, a functional servicing report, a groundwater monitoring report, a traffic impact study, a noise and vibration study, an environmental site assessment and record of site condition, a retail impact study, arborist and tree protection reports, a topographic survey and a draft zoning by-law.

What happens next

The application has been circulated to Town departments and agencies for technical review, and the Town says no decision has been made. As of October 9, the Town's Ward 1 Development Applications page said notice of the statutory public meeting would be given at a later date. At that meeting, members of the public can make a verbal presentation or written submission. Questions and written comments can be sent now to the Town's Development Services Department.
