What Council approved

Milton Council approved three planning applications on September 14, 2026, each without questions from Council, according to the Town's recording of the meeting. 7265 No. 5 Side Road: truck terminal

Avani Steel Corporation Ltd. applied for an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for 7265 No. 5 Side Road, on the northwest corner of No. 5 Side Road and James Snow Parkway in Ward 1. According to the Town's notice, the 1.77-hectare site is in the Milton 401 Industrial/Business Park Secondary Plan, designated Business Park and General Industrial Area, and zoned site-specific Business Park (M1*362), which already permits truck sales. The applications sought to add a "transportation terminal" to the existing uses of truck rental, leasing and servicing, and auto sales.

Council approved recommendation report DS-054-26, which lists the application as by HW Transportation Group, and Official Plan Amendment No. 2 "to permit a Truck Terminal as an additional use" on the lands. The recommendation says the amendment is to be adopted upon the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing's approval of the new Milton Official Plan.

7072 Sixth Line: warehouse

1000377643 Ontario Inc. applied to rezone 7072 Sixth Line, a 1.07-hectare property with about 96 metres of frontage on the west side of Sixth Line north of Derry Road, in the Derry Green Corporate Business Park Secondary Plan. The rezoning, approved through technical report DS-055-26, changes the land from Future Development (FD) to a site-specific General Industrial (M2) zone for a proposed 720-square-metre warehouse with parking. The Town's notice says the watercourse on the property and its buffers are delineated and zoned Natural Heritage System to set the limits of development.

11179 Derry Road: temporary office

Century 21 Green Realty Inc. applied for a temporary use by-law for 11179 Derry Road West, on the north side of Derry Road east of Fifth Line. According to the Town's notice, the by-law allows an office use within the existing house for a period of three years, and no physical development is proposed. Council approved it through technical report DS-056-26, and by-law 088-2026 was passed under the Planning Act sections that govern zoning and temporary use by-laws.

Holding provision lifted in Mattamy subdivision lands

By-law 089-2026 removes a Holding (H) symbol from Blocks 145 and 146 on Plan 20M-1282 and Blocks 67 and 68 on Plan 20M-1290, in part of Lots 6 and 7, Concession 1 (NS), of the former Township of Trafalgar, owned by Mattamy (Milton West) Limited (file Z-10/26). The Town had given notice in August that Council intended to pass it at this meeting. A holding symbol keeps development from proceeding until set conditions are met.

What happens next

As of October 12, the Town had not posted notices of passing for these by-laws on its development notices page; such notices set out how and by when an appeal can be filed. The September 14 meeting was the last of the current Council term.
