The details
What is proposed
The Town of Milton has deemed complete a set of applications for an Urban Boundary Expansion, an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment covering 16 properties east of Tremaine Road and south of Britannia Road in Ward 4. Together the lands cover about 240 hectares (593 acres) and are currently outside the Town's Urban Area, in the Rural Area. According to the Town's notice, the applications would permit site-specific employment uses and an industrial business park of eleven buildings with a combined gross floor area of about 812,000 square metres (8,740,295 square feet).
The applicants named in the notice are Canadian National Railway Company, Dagmile Holdings Inc., 1435283 Ontario Inc., Errolmia Properties Inc., 1435123 Ontario Inc., 1435183 Ontario Inc., 2000033 Ontario Inc. and NAI Milton I, LP.

What the rezoning would allow
The Official Plan Amendment would expand the Urban Area boundary to include the lands and redesignate them for industrial use. The Zoning By-law Amendment would move them from the Town's Rural Zoning By-law 144-2003 into Urban Zoning By-law 016-2014 under a site-specific industrial zone. The notice lists these additional proposed uses within that zone:

- Data centre

How to comment
