The details

What the Town is asking for

The Town of Milton is inviting residents to volunteer to build, maintain and operate an outdoor ice rink in their neighbourhood for the 2026–27 winter. Applications opened on Friday, October 9 and close on Sunday, November 8. The program, which began in the winter of 2022–23 and is entering its fifth season, depends on volunteer teams; the rinks are free for everyone to use and are not supervised or operated by Town staff.

A team must include at least six adults, over 18 and from different households, who live in the surrounding area and commit to maintaining the rink all winter, with one person named as the primary contact. Rinks go in pre-approved parks. New and returning volunteers are encouraged to apply through the online form on the Town's Neighbourhood Outdoor Ice Rinks page.
