Election Day
Monday 26 October 2026, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This year, voters can cast their ballot at any polling station within their ward on Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Advance voting
12–15 October 2026
Advance voting is available from Oct. 12 to Oct. 15, 2026. On Oct. 12 (Thanksgiving Day), voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From Oct. 13-15, voting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. During advance voting, you can cast your ballot at any advance voting location.

Vote by mail
Requests closed 28 September 2026
The deadline to request a Vote by Mail package was Sept. 28, 2026. Vote by Mail applications are now closed. To return your completed kit by Canada Post, it must be mailed by Oct. 15, 2026. If you miss the mail deadline, you can drop off your completed vote-by-mail return envelope at Town Hall, 150 Mary St., by 8 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2026.
Vote by proxy
Certified before 4:30 p.m. on 26 October 2026
If you are unable to vote in person or by mail, you may appoint a voting proxy. A Voting Proxy Appointment Form (Form 3) must be completed, signed by both the elector and the proxy, and certified by the Clerk before Election Day, Oct. 26, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Certification is completed in person at Town Hall, 150 Mary St., Milton.
Who can vote
- A Canadian citizen; and
- At least 18 years old; and
- A resident of Milton; or
- Not a resident in the Town of Milton, but you or your spouse own or rent property in Milton; and
- Not prohibited from voting under any law
You can only vote once, no matter how many properties you own or rent in Milton.
What to bring, and the voters’ list
If your name is on the voters’ list, you will need to show one piece of identification that has your name and address on it. Photo ID is not required.
