Milton through November 16: an election Monday, a one-day Fourth Line closure, two open houses and five deadlines
Election Day is October 26, the same day a stretch of Fourth Line Nassagaweya is closed for a culvert repair. Two Kindergarten open houses, volunteer and survey deadlines, and a November 16 Council meeting follow.
The details
Monday, October 26
Milton votes on Monday, October 26, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Town of Milton says unofficial results will be posted on its website shortly after the polls close.
The same day, the Town is closing Fourth Line Nassagaweya between 10 Side Road and 10230 Fourth Line Nassagaweya from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. so crews can complete an emergency cross-culvert replacement. The Town encourages drivers to plan ahead, consider alternate routes and follow signage.

Ways to take part

Appointees serve until November 14, 2030, or until successors are appointed.
- Neighbourhood rinks: groups of six or more adults from different households can apply by November 8 to maintain and operate a rink at a pre-approved park this winter.
- Noise by-law: the Town's resident survey, which closes November 13, feeds a review of a by-law last updated in 2012; participants are entered in a draw for noise-cancelling headphones.
School-board committees
The Halton District School Board lists two committees with deadlines in this window. Its Special Education Advisory Committee is asking local organizations to send a letter of interest, and up to three community representatives to apply, by October 30. Its Mental Health Strategy Advisory Committee is seeking two parents or guardians of elementary students, two of secondary students, two students in Grade 7 or 8 and two secondary students, with applications due November 15. Members attend two meetings a year, one virtual and one in person.
Community members at large must be Canadian citizens aged 18 or older who live within the board's jurisdiction and are not board employees. Details and forms are on the board's advisory committees page.
Kindergarten open houses and Council
Both boards say their open houses are for families whose children start Kindergarten in September 2027. The public board says no registration is needed for its October 28 session. The Town's eSCRIBE calendar lists a Council meeting on Monday, November 16 at 7 p.m. but had no agenda for it on October 25.
