Milton GO's west platform is closed for repairs until late December
GO Transit has closed the west end of the Milton GO platform for asphalt repairs and new safety features, expected to finish by late December 2026. Riders board at the east end, and not every train door will open at Milton.
What is closed
GO Transit has temporarily closed the west end of the platform at Milton GO station for repairs. Trains are boarding at the east end of the platform. During the closure, crews are repairing the platform asphalt and installing platform safety features. GO says the work is expected to be complete by late December 2026, and that the schedule could change because of weather or unforeseen circumstances.
What riders need to do
Not all train doors will open on arrival at Milton GO. GO Transit asks riders travelling to Milton from Union Station, or from another Milton line station, to board at the accessibility ramp or east of it. Riders already on board may need to walk through the train to a coach whose doors will open, and should listen for instructions from the Customer Service Ambassador.
- Spread out along the platform and use all available doors when boarding.
- Allow extra time for parking and for getting to the train.
- Follow the directional signs and take care around the construction area.
GO says a future phase will bring more improvements around the station, including upgrades to the old platform shelters and lighting. It has not published dates for that phase.
Also changed at the station this fall
Separately, the Town of Milton announced that Milton Transit stops inside the Milton GO bus terminal would change with its fall service update starting September 8, to improve operations in the terminal. The notice said that from that date Routes 9A and 9B would move from Stop #2203 on the outside loop to Stop #2169 on the inside loop, Routes 2E and 2W would move the other way, and stops within the loop would get new identification numbers.
The same fall update introduced Route 31 – Fifth Line, serving the Derry Green Corporate Business Park during weekday peak periods: mornings from 5:22 a.m. to 9:20 a.m., and afternoons and evenings from 2:25 p.m. to 7:03 p.m. It also revised School Extra routes 50 to 54 for the 2026-27 school year, renumbered Route 53A as Route 55, and added a new Route 56 serving Elsie MacGill Secondary School.
