Milton's 2027 budget goes to Council on January 25, after the election
The Mayor's 2027 budget is expected in mid-January and goes to Council on January 25, 2027. Residents can comment online until January 15. In 2026, the Town's share of a residential tax bill rose 6.94 per cent.
The timeline
The Town of Milton is building its 2027 Capital and Operating Budget now, and the key decisions fall after the October 26 municipal election. According to the Town's Let's Talk Milton budget page, a staff-prepared 2027 Budget Reference Document will be available the week of November 23 to 27, Council will hold a budget workshop on December 7, the Mayor's 2027 Budget is expected between January 18 and 22, and Council will consider the budget on January 25, 2027.
That is later than in a normal year. The Town's budget-planning page says the Mayor usually tables the budget in November and Council discusses it in December, but in an election year those steps typically move to early the following year.
